This book is a fabulous mentor text for figurative and descriptive language.
I recently shared Magic Like That with my fifth graders. We enjoyed this wonderful picture book and its positive message. We also enjoyed exploring Doyon’s use of similes, metaphors, and alliteration. Students chose an object/place/person and used Doyon’s craft moves to guide their own writing.
