Online Resource: Kids Ask Authors Podcast

The closure of schools over the past few months means many students have missed out on author visits, book signings, and other connections with writers. In a time of social distance, how can we continue making meaningful connections between students and authors? Children’s book author/illustrator Grace Lin has stepped in with a new podcast: Kids Ask Authors

Kids Ask Authors is a 5-10 minute podcast where Grace Lin and a guest author answer one question from a child reader. While originally intended to be a weekly podcast, Kids Ask Authors is currently releasing three episodes per week to support students during school closures. Guest authors so far have included Mo WillemsAndrea Davis PinkneyRaina Telgemeier, and many others.

Most episodes end with a book review, poem, short story or a joke by kids. This is a perfect authentic writing opportunity for students learning from home! The Kids Ask Authors team welcomes question submissions here and writing submissions here.
