Shared Reading Videos

How do we keep kindergarteners engaged in text each day in a remote learning environment? How do we keep kindergarteners coming back for more when there are many other things to distract them around their home?

Shared reading! Last spring I posted some of the shared reading videos I had created. Today I’d like to share more with you so that your kindergarten students can sing and read along with the videos.

Each text is repeated across four or five lessons. Each week starts with a text introduction that includes a review of new vocabulary. The lessons following are focused on phonemic awareness, word study and fluency. The lessons conclude with some sort of innovation of text or variation of text.

I hope your kindergarteners enjoy them. I had lots of fun making them!

Take care!
